As part of her visit with Ed from Chase Kansas, Linda was able to ride in the actual Santa Fe Trail ruts, known as "Ralph's Ruts". The ruts are named for Carolyn's dad, Ralph Hathaway. He has many stories to relate to Linda, along with pictures and maps and hHere is a photo of Linda by a marker the D.A.R. placed to honor Ralph on the 175th anniversary of the founding of the trail.
