Homeward Bound

October 4, 2005

Hello to all!
Since my last entry, we have journeyed through the wonderful state of Illinois, the pristine state of Indiana with by far the most courteous drivers, and the down home hospitality of Ohio. I enter West Virginia, on Saturday, October 7. Am scheduled to cross into Old Town, MD on October 27 and should complete my journey at the State House in Annapolis on November 9th. Just one month away, I can hardly believe it! I'm so close to home I can almost taste it.

There's so much to tell, stories of adversity, heartache, broken bones and the generosity of the Ameican people. Unfortunately I don't have the time to write a long journal entry, but I do want to thank all my host families, through the past three states, but especially to Katt and Patty who rescued me in IL and took Rocky in for ten days so a puncture wound on his hock could heal, to Ruth and Delbert in IL who provided a respite from Hurricane Katrina, to Gerrett Jones of Southern IL Workwear and Outdoor Center who replaced my lost raincoat during that forsaken time, to JoAnne, Mac, Sue and Jan in IN for just being wonderful girls to hang with, especially in the "Rolling Ritz", to Donnie, Ron and Sharon who took me to Myron Razor of Hillcrest Saddlery where we FINALLY solved the galling problem through the use of a humane girth, to Ron & MaryAnn who coordinated my entire donated stay in Corydon, IN including the Kitner House, Bobbie, Steve and Scott French who spent two days shoeing Rocky and Val--all donating time and service, the Harrsion County Sherrif's Department and Marge and Harold who rescued me in Lanesville, IN from a very serious unknown, to the Little King Miniature Horse Farm, the Ohio Horseman's Council, 5N Ranch, East Fork's Stable's Recycled Ranch, Steve Newman--the only man in history to walk around the world, magnificent story, and to everyone else far too numerous too mention at this moment who have absolutely touched and blessed this journey, I thank you....you are close at heart.

This will probably be one of my last journal entries before arriving home. Home it brings tears to my eyes. Home where my chilren are waiting. Home where my heart is. Home where Sammy rests. I'm headed Home.
God Bless All,
Linda Losey
