Saying Good-bye

On the first leg of the journey, Linda was accompanied by her 13 year old son Peter to help her cross the mountains between San Diego and the Anza Borrego Desert . As Linda wrote in her journal: Monday, April 11—"I'm in Julian , CA and just said good-bye to Pete--one of the hardest things I've had to do thus far on the trip. We've gone through a lot together in just four days. I wouldn't have made it this far if wasn't for his company, resourcefulness and guidance. And for that I will be forever grateful. Thank you Peter."
